Auris explores concepts of imbalance and disorientation, creating a profound sense of vertigo and confusion
Auris
For the collection titled Auris, SSHEENA explores the concepts of imbalance and disorientation. The name itself—latin for "ear" or "hearing"—evokes the central concept of the collection: recreating an anechoic chamber as the backdrop for the lookbook. Designed to completely isolate sound, this environment induces a profound sense of vertigo and loss of direction in anyone who stays inside for an extended period. This feeling finds a cinematic parallel in Robert Aldrich's Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, the film that inspired the collection and explores disorientation within a more intimate, domestic setting. In line with this narrative, a private residence on Via Vivaio in Milan was chosen for the presentation. It is a space where cozy, secluded atmospheres—reminiscent of small chambers—blend with psychedelic, neurotic, and unstable tones, all amplified by the use of coloured lighting effects.
