Waiting for my Romeo, fashion week is just an expensive market
Waiting for my Romeo
In the end, Fashion Week is just one big market. Things are bought. Things are sold. We look. We are looked at. We decide what has value, what no longer does and, above all, how much we are willing to pay to desire something. SSHEENA starts here. For this Fashion Week, the brand steps down — at least symbolically — from fashion’s pedestal and takes its new collection somewhere the rules of exchange are far more explicit: the market. A market stall instead of a boutique. Signs instead of glossy campaigns. Clothes hanging, piled up, touched and bargained over. But this time, fashion isn’t the only thing on the stall. Romeo is there too. SSHEENA’s new collection is called Waiting for my Romeo, and it begins with another great construction of desire: romantic love. We have always been taught to wait for something.
